Speech 1 – My Country, My Pride Good morning respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. Today we have gathered here to celebrate our Independence Day. Every year on 15th August, our country remembers the day we became free from British rule. On this day in 1947, India got its freedom after many years of struggle and sacrifice. We feel very lucky that we are born in a free country. Our great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose, and many others fought for our freedom. They spent their lives for the happiness of the people of India. Because of their hard work and courage, we are able to live freely today. We should always remember their sacrifices and follow their teachings. Independence Day is a day to show our love for our nation.
